One of my rescued corn snakes, Zuko. He and Sokka were taken by us from a neglectful home; here's their story...pretty much, a 12 year old girl declared to her parents that she HAD to have snakes, pronto! And, without research or preparation, they rushed out to get some for her. 2 years later, the snakes are starved, stunted, skinny, afraid of human contact, and (in Zuko's case) aggressive. They're both living together in the same cage, which is too small for either of them, much less both (snakes shouldn't be housed together in the first place) and that's when her parents finally said 'Wow, we screwed up' and let us take them. They've both made a full recovery, though we're unsure if they'll ever grow to their normal size. They're almost less than half the size they should be at their age.
